After an 8 hour drive, the team arrived at Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. When we arrived, it took Ms. TaNikka 20 hours to get us all registered. We stood for hours in the hot, sweltering heat!!! (LOL)
Later, we moved into our wondrous, historic dorms (Oh Glory!) We refreshed ourselves, because Lord knows after 8 hours we needed it. Then we excitedly dragged ourselves to the buses that were transporting youth to the skating rink. To bad, we missed it; so we made our way to the Golden Corral. Our digital navigational device, whom we call Molly, kept getting us lost! Needless to say, Molly went bye bye! We asked for directions the old fashioned way and made it in time to stuff our lovely faces. We were tired, so some of us like Jeremy only ate 5 plates.
Moving on to today…We started out with church, there was MORE church and we ended the day with CHURCH!!! But, there was lunch and dinner in between. Tomorrow we are excited to start our first mission opportunity at the Polk Correctional Institution, a juvenile facility. Now, Ms. TaNikka is warning us to act right because she will (and I quote) “Die for us, but she won’t get fired for us!” (LOL)
